As a player, I was on several conference championship teams and participated in the Wisconsin State High School Tournament. In college, I competed in the NAIA and NCAA Final Four Championships at the beginning and at the end of my playing career. These were truly valuable experiences and a big part of how I coach today.
The Wisconsin State University Conference, WSUC or now WIAC has produced high caliber players, like Terry Porter (former NBA player and current NBA Coach of the Phoenix Suns).
Most of the Conference Championships and National Championships in the WSUC/WIAC have come from talented coaches, like Dick Bennett (Wisconsin, Washington State) and Jack Bennett (Wisconsin - Stevens Point), Bo Ryan (Wisconsin), and a former legendary coach of mine, Ken Anderson, who was 631-152 with a .806 winning percentage.
